RANGER School PREPARATION

EARN THE TAB.

Two phases. One standard. The prep that gets you to Day 0.

SCROLL

THE TAB IS EARNED, NOT GIVEN.

The Soldiers who earn the tab prepared for it. They made the work their focus before they ever saw Camp Rogers. Some are officers who have been pointed at Ranger School since ROTC or West Point. Some are enlisted who decided they were not going to default to being average in their platoon. What they share is they knew what the tab was worth, and they paid for it in the months no one was watching.

THE 22 WEEKS BEFORE RANGER

PREPARATION HAS A SHAPE. KNOW WHERE YOU STAND.

Ranger preparation breaks into two phases. The 10 weeks before peak prep are about building the foundation. The 12 weeks directly before the course are about sharpening it for what is coming. Most candidates do not need both phases. They need the right phase. Where you start depends on where you are right now.

You are ready for Phase 2 if, under ideal conditions, you can pass the Ranger Physical Assessment (push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and the run), complete a 12-mile flat-ground ruck with a 45-pound pack in around 3 hours, run 5 miles in about 40 minutes, and move without a ruck on foot for 4 hours of land navigation. If you cannot, Phase 1 is where you start.

If you can complete that, start with Phase 2 at 12 weeks out. Until then, keep building your base. Coasting is how candidates show up to peak prep flatter than they started.

WHY BLUE/GREEN?

BEYOND THE WORKOUTS.

You have seen the other Ranger programs. Many of them have solid workouts. However, workouts alone are not what Ranger School tests. When you train with intelligent nutrition, deliberate recovery, and real mental skills working alongside the physical work, you reach a level of physical performance you cannot reach any other way. The four domains amplify each other. Drop one and you cap your ceiling on the other three. Our guides cover all four because that is how candidates actually reach the version of themselves Ranger School is looking for.

BUILT BY RANGER gRads & PHDs.

Our team is Ranger graduates and PhDs working together. The Ranger graduates bring the context of what the course actually demands, walked firsthand. The PhDs in exercise physiology, nutrition, and mental skills bring the science of how preparation actually works — not just what worked for one person. The combination is what makes the program work for you, not just for the athlete who wrote it.

ATHLETE FIRST.

Every decision B/G makes starts with one question. If we had to prepare for Ranger School again, what would the best possible material and experience look like? That question shapes every guide we write. It is why our material explains everything in plain language. It is why our team is reachable directly when you have a question. DM us, email us, we will answer. It is why every B/G guide is money-back guaranteed. The candidates who get the most from our programs are not just preparing for one course. They are learning how to train, how to recover, how to think about performance.

THREE PATHS TO THE TAB.

RANGER PHASE 1

THE BASE BUILDER.

If you cannot yet meet Phase 2's physical demands, you are not ready to start it. Phase 1 is the 10-week foundation that gets you there. Four sessions per week, added to your existing PT, designed to build the work capacity Phase 2 will demand of you.

IS THIS FOR YOU?

THIS IS FOR YOU IF

You are headed to Ranger School, SURT, or a Pre-Ranger course.

You have decided that earning the tab matters, and you are looking for the preparation to back that decision up.

You understand that workouts alone are not enough when this much is on the line.

You want to train next to people who take the work as seriously as you do.

THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF

×

You are looking for a workout spreadsheet and nothing else.

×

You want to pay premium prices for one-on-one coaching that gives every athlete the same template.

×

You'd prefer to just head to the gym to lift most days.

×

You are not sure you actually want this. You are exploring Ranger School because someone else suggested it, not because you have decided it is yours.

THE TAB SPEAKS FOR ITSELF

MEN WHO TRAINED WITH B/G AND EARNED IT.

FROM SOLDIERS WHO EARNED IT.

I came into prep already fit. PT was never my problem. What I learned in the first three weeks of the guide is that I needed to develop the specific fitness that would be required of me at Ranger. The volume, the recovery, the way the work stacks day after day. None of that is what you do at your unit. The guide closed a gap I did not know I had. I went into Day 0 ready for what was actually coming along with the confidence the guide's mental skills material gave me.

Chris, SGT — RANGER CLASS 04-26

Ranger has been on my mind since I commissioned. I finally finished IBOLC and had a stretch before my Ranger date. It is a weird time to be sitting around waiting at 2-11, and most guys lose their edge in those weeks. The guide kept me on track. I knew exactly what to do every day, and it felt good getting the little things right with eating and recovery. I showed up to Day 0 sharper than when I left IBOLC. Thrilled to wear my tab in front of my first platoon.

James , 2LT — RANGER CLASS 01-26

IBOLC wore me down, but I was fortunate to have some prep time before my Ranger date. The guide kept me on track and stopped me from defaulting to the gym, which is what most of my friends ended up doing. Waking up and just following the plan was easier than convincing myself I did not really need to ruck that day. I knew I had to get it done before I showed up to my first platoon. Those men deserved a leader with a tab, not a leader still trying to earn one.

QUESTIONS RANGER CANDIDATES ASK BEFORE THEY BUY.

You can. Many candidates do. What we do know is that the majority who show up fail. If Ranger School matters enough to you, avoid taking a needless risk. You not only need to work hard, but you need to work hard the right way. Ranger School is about fitness, but it's specific fitness. Fitness that exactly matches the demands of the course. Our structured programming offers that, to keep your hard work focused in the most optimal direction.

For Phase 2 - we aren't here to lie to you. Distractions in the 12 weeks directly before Ranger School often degrade fitness. Our extensive material in the guide addresses these realities and helps you adjust as needed to make it all work. No structured program can help you overcome large periods of missed training time, but a well explained program can give you a realistic path to stay on track. We're also always here to answer your DMs to help you make adjustments - we've been offering this for 5+ years to those headed to Ranger. For Phase 1 - this is specifically designed to work with your existing PT and life schedule, so this is far easier to adjust to what you can get done.

Ranger is mental, which is exactly why fitness alone is not enough. The guide includes a full chapter on the mental skills needed for the course, written by PhDs who specialize in performance under stress. Beyond that, every workout is also mental training. Showing up on the days you do not want to is how you build the version of yourself that does not quit at the course. The physical work is the vehicle. The mental work happens inside it. We still don't understand why everyone else ignores mental fitness. We don't. That is why we crafted PhD written mental performance material - not just mental non-sense.

Most one-on-one coaching at this price point hands every athlete the same template and a weekly check-in text. Our guide explains the why behind every decision so you become a better trainer of yourself. That value compounds across your career, not just for one course.

Cheaper Ranger programs are workout sheets. Ours covers fitness, nutrition, recovery, and mental skills, written by Ranger graduates and PhDs. Ranger School is a whole-person test. Your preparation should be too. If you are looking for cheapest and simplest material, that isn't what Blue / Green offers.

Being fit is not the same as understanding fitness. A Ranger graduate can tell you what he did to prepare. He cannot necessarily tell you why it worked, what it will do to a candidate with a different training age, or how to periodize it for your specific timeline. We pair Ranger graduates with PhDs so you get both experience and science. When it matters this much, you deserve a path that supports this goal.

Yes. Treat those courses like they are actually Ranger School. Use Phase 2 when you are 12 weeks out. You need to do well there to get to Ranger. Those courses have nearly identical, but often compressed, demands to that of Ranger. Train the same way, and DM us if you have an unusual situation and we will help.

THE TAB STARTS WITH THE WORK.

The Soldiers who earn the tab started preparing before they had to. Start where you are. Finish where they did.
